It’s been a really busy time for us behind the scenes and we’re very proud to announce some exciting new changes at Hops and Camellias.
We have recently expanded our Truro based studio at 63 Fairmantle Street and returned it to a design practice in order to centralise our service and meet the rising demand for luxury holiday house renovations across Cornwall. Hops and Camellias was founded by Elaine Skinner in 2003 and is responding to a shift in our clients’ needs, following an increased demand over the last year, for our niche design and project management services. To reflect the change we’ve also undergone a rebrand, to freshen things up and celebrate the rebirth of Hops and Camellias the ‘luxury’ Design Practice. We absolutely love our new look!
“We specialise in luxury holiday house design for private clients and understand just what it takes to set the tone for today’s discerning customers” says Elaine. “Our clients are looking to us to maximise the appeal and revenue from their holiday let, something we understand inside out and we regularly deliver turnkey projects for out of county clients, working to tight deadlines in time for the holiday season.”
Elaine continues “We decided to return to our roots, we are one of the only qualified and accredited British Institute of Interior Design practices in Cornwall, something we are very proud of and whilst we’ll miss our shop fronts, we are really excited to be focusing on what we do best, award winning interior design, creating exceptional spaces and maximum return on investment for our clients.”
The relocation from Rock to Truro allows us to better service our countywide client base and visit clients in their own homes, across all of Cornwall. Local company Lucy Orr Interiors is taking over our Rock premises and Jo & Co Home, near Wadebridge, are the new stockist of Farrow & Ball paint. Elaine says
“Both Lucy and Jo have such gorgeous products, we frequently recommend them to our clients, we wish them all the best in their new ventures”.
Elaine Skinner is an award-winning designer with more than 15 years’ experience renovating and remodelling second homes, new builds and holiday lets throughout Cornwall, including some of the county’s most sought-after locations including, St Ives, Port Isaac, The Roseland Peninsula, Fowey, Falmouth and Mawgan Porth.
The team at Hops and Camellias have developed their extensive expertise working within the challenges presented by Cornwall’s unique coastal towns and regularly work with luxury Estate Agencies like Savills and Rohrs & Rowe to advise potential buyers on suitable investment properties. Martyn Rohrs from Rohrs & Rowe Property Agents said
“There is a huge demand for high-end, luxury holiday rentals in Cornwall. Clients want to know their Interior Designer understands the market and how to maximise long-term return on investment, whilst creating a scheme that will stand the test of time. We have worked with Elaine on a number of projects and have no hesitation in recommending her practice to our clients”.
Here at Hops and Camellias, Elaine and our team of professionally qualified designers, have worked on everything from grand coastal homes and penthouse apartments to quaint cottages, townhouses and commercial premises. Many of the team’s high-end projects can be rented through luxury holiday letting agencies like Cornish Gems and Cornish Horizons. If you need help or advice with a second home or to achieve full ROI on your holiday rental, please contact us at our Truro Practice.
