Perched above what is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall, it has fabulous views over the little-changed houses and cottages down to the charming harbour below.
The Client Brief:
The client had a builder and architect in place and approached Elaine Skinner at Hops and Camellias to carry out all the design, and the complete renovation. The client wanted to use the home for private use in the holidays and was a keen angler so had a whole host of toys to house! The current layout of the house did not work for them, so with Elaine they set about changing the layout of the property, moving bathrooms and kitchens to best benefit the incredible views of the sea. This was a large-scale project, taking 8 months from start to completion. Windows were replaced throughout, small conservatories were added and landscaping amended. Walls, floors, lighting and decoration were enhanced with Elaine’s design skills.
Elaine spent many meetings with her client at the early stages before work commenced. Elaine then worked together with the architect and builder to see the job to completion.
The result was a spacious coastal family home. Personalised to suit the client and their pursuits. This was one of the earliest Hops and Camellias projects and very little has dated in all that time.
